About Us

Dr Clifford

Piers Clifford graduated from Oxford University in 1984 with a first class degree before completing his medical training at St Mary’s Medical School, London in 1987. His cardiological training was predominantly at the Hammersmith Hospital, where he still works as an Interventional Cardiologist.

He was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist to Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust in 1999. He is now the Clinical Lead for Cardiology, the Chairman of the Division of Medicine, and has developed highly successful angioplasty and investigative units which are unrivalled by other district hospitals. He has developed vast experience, skill and expertise in all areas of adult cardiology with a particular interest in coronary intervention, the modern treatment of hypertension, atrial fibrillation and the inherited cardiomyopathies.

Also in 1999, Dr. Clifford began his private practice at the Chiltern Hospital to further meet the needs of Buckinghamshire residents and to allow him to offer the very highest standard of personalised patient care. He now also offers consultations at the Shelburne Hospital in High Wycombe, HCA Chiswick, and HJE in St Johns Wood, London.

Dr. Clifford has three children and lives in central London. He plays competitive tennis, enjoys good food and fine wine, and likes to spend as much time as possible in the mountains.  However, his sons tend to keep him on the touchline and his daughter in the clothes shops.

Support Staff

Dr. Clifford’s secretary, Catherine Teasdel, is a vastly experienced medical secretary who has worked alongside him for the last 11 years. On the rare occasion when she is not available, a support secretary will always be on hand to answer your queries and provide access to your test results.

Location

Dr. Clifford runs his private practice in both Buckinghamshire and London where his teams are committed to providing an efficient service in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The results of most cardiac investigations can be provided on the same day as the initial consultation for maximum patient convenience and to minimise the anxiety that a potential heart problem may cause.
